NC candidate Gurung wins in Gorkha’s Arughat



POKHARA: Nepali Congress (NC) has won the local level elections in Arughat rural municipality of Gorkha.

The NC had won the post of chairperson and vice-chairperson in the previous elections, too. Raju Gurung of the NC defeated Krishna Nepali of the UML.

Gurung got 5,556 votes while Nepali obtained 4,833 votes. Kalpana Nepali of the NC also won the post of vice-chairperson.

She defeated UML’s Sita Dahal. While Nepali got 5,631 votes, Dahal secured 3,816 votes.

Out of 10 wards of Arughat, NC has won 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8 while UML has won 4, 5, 6 and 10 wards. CPN (Maoist Center) has won ward 9.
