UML wins in Taplejung’s Meringden-6

TAPLEJUNG: CPN-UML has won the elections in Meringden rural municipality ward no. 6.

The UML panel has won the ward chairperson and members in the counting of votes held in Nalbu of Meringden rural municipality-6.

According to Meringden Election Officer Shambhu Regmi, UML’s Manoj Kumar Tumbahamphe won with 456 votes. Thakur Singh Limbu of the CPN (Unified Socialist) got 324 votes. There is a difference of 132 votes in the ward chairman.

Women’s ward member Yangde Sherpa, Dalit women’s member Dil Kumari BK, open members Naradhwaj Limbu and Bhim Kumar Sherpa have emerged victorious.

In this ward, NC, Unified Socialists and CPN (Maoist Center) had formed an alliance.

There is a difference of only 66 votes for the post of chairman of rural municipality. Kedar Jung Limbu of UML got 426 votes and Yukhangbir Hangam of Nepali Congress got 360 votes.

Durga Prasad Shrengchogbang of the Unified Socialists got 317 votes while Dawachhiring Sherpa got 296 votes.
