The EC has not mobilized people to meet voters face-to-face for voter education. Rather, it is conducting the campaign with the help of technology.

32 elected reps sued on corruption allegations; five caught red-handed in current fiscal year

Envisioned to function as the decentralized administration mechanism in the federal system, the local levels are turning the places for misappropriation and corruption of late.

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has so far filed corruption cases against 32 people’s representatives till May 10 of the current fiscal year 2021/22.

2,946 polling centers highly sensitive; 260,000 security personnel deployed

Boom in tourism and remittances eases pressure on foreign exchange reserves

With the remittances and the tourism sector’s gradual boom, the pressure on foreign exchange reserves has started to ease these days.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the foreign exchange reserves stood at Rs. 1,167.92 billion as of mid-April. Foreign exchange reserves declined by Rs 4 billion in Chaitra (March 15 to April 13) compared to the previous month.

NEPSE rises by 56 points Wednesday

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has increased by 56.06 points to reach 2,369.06 points on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week.

The share trading gauge NEPSE index has increased by double digits continuously this week.

Imports via Rasuwagadhi checkpoint halted

Imports through Rasuwgadhi checkpoint have been halted till local-level election.
