Nepal sees eight new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours



KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded a total of eight new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Monday.

All the confirmed cases, six were detected through the RT-PCR method and two through Antigen method. Of the six, four were diagnosed in Kathmandu, one each in Lalitpur and Sunsari of Province 1.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 3,002 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,693 samples were tested through RT-PCR and 1,309 through the Antigen method.

No person died due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll in the country stands at 11,952 to date.

Currently, there are 190 active cases in the country as 17 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.
