Malaysia govt hikes migrant worker’s salary to 1,500 ringgit



KATHMANDU: The minimum wage of a migrant worker including the Nepali has been hiked by 25 percent.

The Malaysian government hiked the minimum salary of a migrant worker from 1,200 ringgit to 1,500.

Issuing a press note, Nepali Embassy in Malaysia said that it would not attest to the demand letter if the minimum wage of a migrant worker is below 1,500 ringgit (Rs 42,000).

With the new increment, a migrant worker in Malaysia will get Rs 42,000 per month. Earlier, the minimum wage of the migrant worker was 1,200 ringgit.
