5,251 queries registered in EC call center in past 30 days



KATHMANDU: As many as 5,251 inquiries were registered in the call center set up by the Election Commission (EC) in view of the May 13 local election.

The EC said almost all the queries were addressed. Of the total inquiries, 4,562 regular calls were made through regular calls and 689 were recorded calls or voice mails.

According to Madhusudan Pudasaini, supervisor of the call center, the call center has been in operation since March 29 and it receives about 300 inquiries on a daily basis.

Most of the queries are addressed immediately while some queries are addressed in coordination with the sections and divisions concerned.

The call center has seven manpower, including one supervisor, one senior engineer of Nepal Telecom and five call agents.

Pudasaini said high-ranking EC officials and employees are active in addressing the queries at the call center.

Anyone can put their election-related queries at the EC call center through toll free number 1102.
