Biplav-led NCP expels Bastola and Oli from party

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by Netra Bikram Chand alias Biplav has expelled leaders Hemanta Prakash Oli and Dharmendra Bastola.

Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, Biplav has informed that leaders Oli and Bastola have been relieved of their posts.

“The NCP has relieved them of their posts for going against the party leadership and inciting factionalism in the party,” reads the press statement.

They have also been charged for sharing negative views detrimental to the party with the media outlets. Some leaders including Biplav were in favor of the upcoming local level elections while Bastola and Oli were against it.

An NCP meeting held in the first week of Chaitra had not taken decision regarding this.

Some leaders and cadres of the faction led by Biplav had registered candidacies in some districts including Rolpa and Dang as independent candidates.

Secretariat member Bastola, earlier, had issued a press statement saying that they should be penalized.
