NC leader Sirjana Singh files nomination for Kathmandu Metropolis mayor



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Sirjana Singh has registered her candidacy for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City on behalf of the ruling coalition.

Singh, who is the spouse of NC leader Prakash Man Singh, has registered her candidacy for mayor on behalf of the ruling Nepali Congress.

She reached the office of the Chief Electoral Officer at City Hall at Exhibition Road, in Kathmandu, along with party cadres to file candidacy.

After registering her candidacy, Singh clarified that she got the mayoral ticket based on her contribution to party and nothing else. She is involved in the NC for the past 35 years.

Meanwhile, the deputy mayoral seat is reserved for the CPN-Unified Socialist (CPN-US) as per the agreement struck among coalition partners.
