NC finalizes mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates in eight municipalities in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has finalized the candidates for mayor and deputy mayor in eight municipalities of Kathmandu for the May 13 local level elections.

NC’s Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party has decided to appoint Upendra Karki as the mayoral candidate of Kageshwari Manohara Municipality.

Similarly, Deepak Risal has been selected as the mayoral candidate of Gokarneshwor municipality. Shanti Nepal has been picked for the post of Deputy Mayor in Gorkarneshwor.

Likewise, Ghana Shyam Giri and Yamuna Devi Shrestha have been chosen for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor in Chandragiri municipality.

In the same way, Krishna Hari Maharjan and Shrijana Burlakoti have been nominated for the mayoral and deputy mayoral post of Tarkeshwar Municipality and Mohan Basnet and Basanti Tamang have been picked for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Dakshinkali municipality.

NC has decided to file Mohan Bahadur Basnet and Kalyani Khadka’s name to lead Nagarjuna Municipality as Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

Similarly, Binod Chalise’s name is settled to contest as Mayor of Budhanilkantha.

NC has picked the name of Om Karki and Samita Shrestha as mayoral and deputy mayoral candidate in Shankarapur Municipality.
