UML holding secretariat meeting today

To finalize candidates for metropolises and sub metropolises

KATHMANDU: Main opposition CPN-UML is holding a secretariat meeting to finalize candidacies for six metropolitan cities and 11 sub-metropolitan cities today.

The meeting will be focused on the selection criteria of candidacies and the strategy to be adopted against the contesting parties, said UML Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Rimal.

UML has called the secretariat meeting one day after the ruling coalition reached a deal on the candidacies for the posts of mayors and deputy mayors of the metropolitan cities and sub-metropolitan cities.

The secretariat meeting of UML has already endorsed the draft of the election manifesto of the party.

Similarly, UML is making preparations to unveil the commitment papers simultaneously from the center and the local level on April 22 on the occasion of the establishment day of the party, said a UML leader.
