Banking systems witnessed a decrease worth Rs 10 billion, CD ratio increased

KATHMANDU: Banks and financial institutions have witnessed a decrease of Rs 10 billion in a single day.

According to the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the total deposits have decreased by Rs. 10 billion in one day. The financial system which had 49.62 trillion on April 16 had only 49.52 on April 17.

Similarly, Rs 2 billion has been disbursed as loans from banks and financial institutions in one day.

Lately, deposit collection in commercial banks has also been declining. Deposit collection has declined by Rs 9 billion in a single day on April 17. Till the previous day, deposits in these banks had accumulated Rs 43.77 trillion.

According to the NRB, the CD ratio stood at 90.43 percent on April 17. The previous day’s CD ratio was 90.28 percent.
