Bibeksheel to field Ujjwal Krishna  as mayor of Lalitpur metropolis



KATHMANDU: Bibeksheel Sajha Party (BSP) has decided to field Ujjwal Krishna Shrestha as the candidate for the mayoral post in the Lalitpur Metropolitan City.

The BSP has said it will announce the candidacy by organizing a press meeting at 2 pm today.

The BSP is making preparations to hold a press meet on the premises of Bhimsen Temple at Patan Durbar Square at 2 pm today.

Shrestha who had fought the election to the House of Representatives (HoR) from constituency-3 in 2074 is also the party coordinator of the Lalitpur district.

With the date of local elections fast approaching, political parties have started announcing the names of their candidates one after the other.

Earlier, Nepali Congress (NC) announced the name of Chiribabu Maharjan as the mayoral candidate of the Lalitpur metropolis while CPN-UML has recommended the name of Hari Krishna Byanjankar in the Lalitpur metropolis.
