Local elections will be held on the stipulated date: CEC Thapaliya



KATHMANDU: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dinesh Thapaliya has reaffirmed his commitment to holding the local elections on May 13.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the orientation program for journalists and photojournalists on Tuesday, Chief Election Commissioner Thapaliya said, “The election scheduled for May 13 will be held on the scheduled date.”

He urged one and all to remove doubts if any.

CEC Thapaliya also said that since democracy and elections are complementary to each other, it is necessary to move forward by overcoming doubts.

He also said that they were committed to making the upcoming election as economical as possible.
