NC holding meeting of work execution committee today

To finalize electoral candidates for metropolis, sub-metropolis



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) is holding a meeting to decide the candidates for the metropolis and sub-metropolis in the upcoming local elections today.

Party President Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the Prime Minister, has called the meeting to discuss the issues of the chiefs and deputy chiefs of the metropolis and sub-metropolis as per the agreement reached in the five-party ruling alliance.

The meeting will be held at the party office, Sanepa today afternoon, according to Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel.

As the date of the local level election is approaching, the opposition party CPN-UML has already finalized the candidates in different municipalities.

The parties in the alliance, including the Nepali Congress, are still engaged in internal discussions.
