Do not give remarks that will create confusion about local election: EC

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has urged political parties not to make statements that would create confusion about May 13-slated local level election.

Speaking at a regular press conference held by EC on Thursday, EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel said the EC had drawn the attention of the leaders and activists of the political parties who  at several occasions expressed doubts about the scheduled local elections.

Similarly, the EC also said that 7.33 million ballot papers to be dispatched to 49 districts were being printed out of total 19 million required for the election. Poudel added the training program for the Chief Election Officer was underway.

Likewise, the EC would consider candidates to belong to the same party under whose election symbol they would contest the election.

Similarly, the EC shared that it would start publishing local level election e-bulletin to provide information about all the activities related to local level election.
