KATHMANDU: The government has appointed Pushpa Ram KC to the post of Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Nepal Armed Police Forces (APF) Wednesday.
According to Home Minister sources, the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to appoint KC as the chief of the Armed Police Force.
KC was in the lead in the contest for the top post of armed police.
He joined the Nepal Police as an inspector on April 26, 1992, and later joined the Armed Police Force. KC was the head of the Task and Border Security Division. He will be retiring on May 1, 2022.
KC was given the responsibility of acting as Inspector General of the Armed Police Force on April 11. Shailendra Khanal became the IGP of the Armed Forces for four years from April 12, 2018. Along with his retirement, KC and Ram Sharan Poudel of the same batch were competing for IGP.
