Bibeksheel Sajha finalizes names for Kathmandu Mayor and Deputy Mayor



KATHMANDU: Bibeksheel Sajha Party has finalized the candidates for the post of mayor and deputy mayor in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Party Spokesperson Sharad Raj Pathak said that the party has decided to field Samikchya Baskota as the mayor and Kirti Tuladhar as the deputy mayor.

A meeting of the party held on Monday decided to field Baskota, a former coordinator of Bagmati Pradesh and a member of the Central Performance Committee, as mayor and Tuladhar, a central member, as deputy mayor.

Baskota, 38, has a law degree from the United States. She was the candidate for the Provincial Assembly from Kathmandu Constituency No. 1 in 2074 BS.

Tuladhar, 62, is the former national chairperson of Jaycees. She has a master’s degree in education.
