Indian Embassy marks 72nd ICCR Foundation Day



KATHMANDU: Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center (SVCC) under the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has marked the 72nd Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Foundation Day.

The event was organized at Hotel Marriott in Kathmandu to deepen the bonds of friendship among ICCR alumni on April 9.

The event was inaugurated by Namgya Khampa, the Deputy Chief of Mission, in the presence of noted politician and leader of Nepali Congress Dr. Shashank Koirala, cine artist Manisha Koirala and prominent ICCR alumni from Nepal.

On the occasion, two distinguished alumni of ICCR from Nepal — Dr. Bhola Thapa, the Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University, and Neelesh Pradhan, the CEO of Nepal Clearing House — shared their experiences of study in India.

Similarly, noted actress Manisha Koirala also shared her experiences of her early childhood and education in India.

A video compilation of experiences of alumni of ICCR from across the globe was also screened on the occasion amid a cultural program by the SVCC during the event.
