KATHMANDU: The Police Headquarters has decided to deploy one more Superintendent of Police to look into the litigation filed at the Kathmandu police. With the post added to the Circle, Kathmandu police will have two SPs now.

Inspector General of Police Shailesh Thapa decided to add SP Bhattarai to Kathmandu police .

Earlier, SP Dinesh Raj Mainali had been looking after all issues. However, after realizing that the Circle had been under high pressure of the complaints and grievances and the heavy workload of the operation, one SP would not be sufficient for the capital city, the Headquarters decided to add one more.

The police had the practice of deploying two DSPs in the districts of terai with high work pressure.

There are two DSPs working in Terai districts including Biratnagar and Parsa.

An investigation committee formed earlier had also recommended to make the provision of two SPs in the Kathmandu Police Circle.
