Govt padlocks  the hotel run by Batas group at Pashupati Dharamsala

KATHMANDU: Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has shut down the Hotel Anand run by Batas Group at Nepal-India Friendly Dharamsala.

Earlier, the hotel staff had tried to bar the government from entering the hotel by locking the hotel gate inside. However, determined to go inside the PADT officials requested the staff to let them enter.

After a short scuffle, the PADT officials padlocked the hotel citing the latter (Batas Group) did not abide by the written instructions to evacuate the place.

According to Batas Group sources,  the hotel requested the government not to interfere in the operation till the final verdict comes on the issue.

Stating that the work was not done as per the agreement, PADT had decided, on March 31, to terminate the agreement with Hotel Ananda Pvt Ltd, run by Batas Group at Dharamsala Bhawan. However, the Batas Group has abstained receiving the letter.

Then last Monday, PADT had issued a public notice to vacate the Pashupati Dharamsala building run by Hotel Ananda.
