Body of minor found in septic tank in Sarlahi



KATHMANDU: The body of a minor has been found inside a septic tank in Sarlahi on Thursday.

The body of Akash Thakur, 10, of Gamhariya in Malangwa Municipality-12, who had been missing for the past five days, has been found inside a septic tank.

District Police Office, Sarlahi, said the minor’s body was found inside a septic tank of a toilet adjoining Jagadish Thakur’s home. Moreover, preliminary police investigation showed that the child could have been murdered as the body was wrapped in a jute bag and thrown into the tank.

Family members had reported the police about the minor’s disappearance after he went missing on April 3 in the course of attending a local event that day.

The body was found in course of police search.

The police have taken seven persons, including Jagadish Thakur, under custody, police said.

The body has been taken to Malangwa Hospital for postmortem. Police are further investigating the incident.
