Election code of conduct to come into force from Friday

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) is making preparations to implement the election code of conduct for the upcoming local level elections from tomorrow.

A source at the Election Commission has said a meeting of the EC to be held today or tomorrow will take an official decision to impose the election code of conduct from Friday.

The election code of conduct will be implemented by incorporating suggestions given by the representatives of the political parties in the all-party meeting, the EC said.

The Commission has been holding interactions in the capitals of all the seven provinces including Nepal-India borders to check the violations of the election code of conduct by the candidates.
