KATHMANDU: The Scientific Socialist Party has selected a new 99-member working committee led by Ahuti.
The first national congress of the party held in Kathmandu from March 31 to April 2 elected Ahuti as the general secretary and Jagrit Rayamajhi as the spokesperson of the party. The party said it had 40 percent representation of women in the Central Committee.
The meeting has also selected a 15-member central secretariat. Among secretariat members are General Secretary Ahuti, Spokesperson Rayamajhi, Madan Aryal, Rajkumar Hingmang, Sagar Limbu, Dhankumari Sunar, Rajeshwari Subedi, Divi Sarba Shreshtha, Ashish Limbu, Baidyanath Thakur, Buddha Laxmi Maharjan, Binod Sunam, Lachhuram Bk, Pushpa Kumar Bhandari and Shyam Kunwar.
Similarly, RP Guragain, Dr. Ajay Yadav, Mohan Sashankar and Dr. Sanjay Sah have been elected to the advisory committee.
The meeting has selected a full authority exercising enlightened committee whose members are Nandan Aryal, Dr. Shiva Shankar Yadav, Haridev Thakur, Rohit Hingmang and Chitra Bahadur Bishwakarma.
A statement issued by General Secretary Ahuti after the national congress said that the meeting of the Enlightened Committee could select additional members on the advice of the party’s central office.
The congress also picked provincial coordinators of all the seven provinces and heads of eight departments. Ashish Limbu in Province 1, Baidyanath Thakur in Madhesh, Buddhalaxmi Maharjan in Bagmati, Binod Sonam in Gandaki, Lachhuram BK in Lumbini, Pushpa Kumar Bhandari in Karnali and Shyam Kunwar in Sudurpaschim Province have been selected as coordinators.
Similarly, Ahuti is to lead School and Publications Department; Sagar Limbu – Organization Department; Madan Aryal – Production Department; Rajesh Nepali – International Department, Surendra Luintel – Science and Technology Department; Subash Pandey – Finance and Accounts Department; Rajan Done – Foreign Labor Department; Jagrit Rayamajhi Publicity Department; Shubharati Mansur — Muslim Department and Badri Kumar Chaulagain – Teachers department.
Similarly, Kalsang Lama has been selected as the secretary of the central office. The first meeting of the Scientific Socialist Party has also passed an eight-point political resolution on the current political situation, including Millennium Challenge Corporation and corruption, among others.
