NA Chair Timilsina urges party leaders to follow COVID-19 health protocols

KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has urged people’s representatives and political party leaders to wear facemasks while joining the publicity campaign for the May 13 local level election amidst COVID-19 risks.

He also asked them to also spread awareness about the virus, but not only talks about development and prosperity while reaching out to the people for votes.

Inaugurating an interaction ‘Communications against vaccination risks against COVID-19 and community participation’ organised here today by the Ministry of Health and Population with the assistance of the World Health Organisation, NA Chair Timilsina shared that all should strictly follow the health protocols against the infection as it has yet to be controlled.

He also emphasised  on the need of accelerating the  COVID-19 vaccination drive across the country especially in Madhes Province which has witnessed low vaccination rate as compared to other provinces.

Similarly, Dr Rajesh Sambhajirao Pandav, chief of the WHO Office, Nepal, praised Nepal’s efforts in preventing and controlling COVID-19.
