KATHMANDU: The Central Committee (CC) meeting of the CPN-UML concluded today (Thursday) instructing the leaders and cadres to concentrate on the upcoming local elections.
The CC meeting that started on Wednesday passed the political report presented by party Chair KP Sharma Oli and concluded with a decision on 11-point agenda.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Chair Oli had directed party members to be mobilized with a focus on the upcoming election, going door-to-door and getting acquainted with the problems of the people.
According to Bishnu Rijal, deputy chief of the UML Central Publicity Department, the meeting decided to have at least five speakers in the party’s public program, reduce the use of garlands and food, make the program quicker and keep only the speakers on the platform.
The meeting has passed six criteria for local level election candidates. It authorized the secretariat to finalize the election manifesto as soon as possible.
A working group comprising Vice President Yubaraj Gyawali, Deputy General Secretaries Pradip Gyawali and Vishnu Rimal, leaders Devendra Dahal, Prabhu Shah, Manoj Jung Thapa, Yubaraj Khatiwada, Prabha Baral and Dr Dinesh Chandra Devkota has been formed under the coordination of Senior Vice President Ishwor Pokharel to draft the election manifesto.
