Home Ministry formulates integrated security policy



KATHMANDU: The government has passed an integrated security policy for local elections to be held on May 13.

A meeting of the security committee chaired by Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand on Thursday passed a “local level election integrated security policy”.

“The security committee meeting has adopted the necessary integrated security policy for the elections,” said Home Ministry spokesman Phanindra Mani Pokhrel.

During the meeting, the security chiefs expressed their views on the current security situation and the need to hold the election.

The meeting also discussed how to manage security during Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s three-day visit to Nepal starting Friday.
