Constitutional Bench hearing writ against appointments of 52 individuals to constitutional bodies

KATHMANDU: A Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court is hearing the writ petition on appointments of 52 officials in various constitutional bodies today.

Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had made these appointments during his premiership by bringing an ordinance to amend the constitutional council act.

The Constitutional Bench is constituted on only Wednesday and Friday every week. The Constitutional Bench on Friday had scheduled a hearing on the writ petition for Wednesday.

The Constitutional Bench is comprised of acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki, Meera Khadka, Hari Krishna Karki, Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha and Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada.

Advocate Dr. Ganesh Regmi had filed a writ against the appointments of officials in the constitutional bodies.
