Nepal sees 44 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours

13 new cases in Kathmandu Valley



KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 44 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Tuesday.

Of the confirmed cases today, 35 were detected through the RT-PCR method and nine from the antigen method.

Meanwhile, Kathmandu district recorded 9 new cases, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur registered two new cases each, taking Kathmandu Valley’s total to 13.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the country witnessed one coronavirus-related death in the past 24 hours. With this, the COVID-19 death toll in the country has reached 11,951 to date.

Currently, there are 2,688 active cases in the country as 481 infected patients recovered.
