Holi celebrators resorting to law prohibited activities subject to punishment



BHAKTAPUR: The Bhaktapur district administration office has urged Holi celebrators not to resort to the activities prohibited by law while celebrating the festival.

Those violating law are subjected to punishment as per law, it has warned.

Activities like smearing colors and throwing lola at people against their will, troubling pedestrians and obstructing and extorting money from running vehicles on the roads are punishable, according to an appeal issued by Chief District Officer Rudra Devi Sharma on Wednesday.

Holi celebrators have been asked not to degrade religious and cultural norms and values of anyone while observing the festival.
