India accepts Dr Sharma’s agreemo



KATHMANDU: India has accepted the nomination of Dr. Shankar Sharma as Nepal’s Ambassador to New Delhi.

India has accepted Sharma’s agreemo and communicated it to the Nepal government.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari will officially appoint him as the ambassador to India, a government source said.

Sharma, is a former vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission, an economist and former ambassador to the United States, was recommended by the government as its ambassador to India.

After the parliamentary hearing committee approved Sharma’s name, a letter was sent to India for the agreemo.

Along with Sharma, Gyan Chandra Acharya and Shreedhar Khatri have been appointed ambassadors to the United Kingdom and the United States respectively.
