PM Deuba thanks India for helping Nepalis return from Ukraine



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has thanked India for helping in the safe return of four Nepalis from war-torn Ukraine.

Prime Minister Deuba has thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the latter’s role in securing safe passage of the Nepalis stranded in Ukraine.

“Four Nepali national have just arrive in Nepal from Ukraine via India. Thank you Prime Minister @narendramodi and the Government of India for the assistance in repatriating Nepali nationals through the #OperationGanga,” Prime Minister Deuba said on Saturday.

Although the details of the people who arrived via India has not been revealed, the government sources informed that they have already arrived Nepal.

Earlier, the Indian government rescued a Nepali who had arrived in Poland from Ukraine last week. So far, India has helped five Nepalis to return home from Ukraine.
