Ballot color of May 13 election will be green



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has stated that the symbol of the upcoming local election of May 13 will be green.

Speaking at a press conference in Kathmandu on Monday, EC Information Officer Surya Prasad Aryal informed that the symbols, details and security symbols would be green when printing ballot papers for the election.

He informed that preparations for the local elections are in full swing.

According to Aryal, the preparation of audio and video materials for the election campaign and voter education are being evaluated.

Earlier, the Commission had called for the election campaign related election song, lyric message, dialogue message and short film etc writing competition.

Information Officer Aryal also said that a public notice has been issued to the printing presses for printing election related election materials, directives, forms etc.

EC mentioned that the Commission could make other preparations provided the government decided different modality in consultation with it.
