KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has proposed to discuss on the ‘note of dissent’ of the leaders over the US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) project after local election.

Addressing the Maoist Center’s Central Committee meeting which began on Friday, Prachanda urged the leaders to consider the significance of ‘explanatory notes’ added to the MCC compact during the parliamentary ratification.

Earlier, leader Dev, Gurung, Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Giri Raj Mani Pokhrel had registered their dissent on the party’s role on MCC ratification arguing the act undermined the Maoist Center’s national general convention’s spirit.

Chairman Prachanda said in Monday’s meeting that the MCC note of dissent kept by the three was the property of the party and it would be kept safe.

“This issue will be discussed after the local elections,” he said.
