Ruling coalition floating proposal of early elections to affect local level polls: UML leader Nembang

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Parliamentary Party (PP) Deputy Leader Subash Nembang has said that the ruling coalition floated the proposal of early elections as per its plan of affecting local level elections slated for May 13.

Talking to reporters at the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwor on Sunday, he said that the talks of early elections might have been circulated with the intention of disrupting, postponing and intervening in the local elections.

“They are cunning. They may be trying to disrupt the local elections, postpone it or perhaps capture booths during the election,” he said.

Nembang said, “When the UML dissolved the parliament in the past after it did not function properly; they labeled the move as regressive. What has happened now that they are floating proposal of early elections?” He wondered why they thought of holding early elections now.
