Govt committed to make Federal Civil Service Act in tune with time: PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has pledged to take forward the Federal Civil Service Act in a timely manner.

Inaugurating the 8th national convention of the Nepal Civil Service Employees Union in Kathmandu Saturday, PM Deuba assured that the government was committed to address the issues seen during the employee adjustment process. Deuba viewed that civil employees should be employed for the national interest without discriminating them on the basis of their political ideologies, stating that civil employees should render services to the public ‘with smile’.

Urging civil servants to deliver service effectively, the PM asserted that the constitution of Nepal has clearly defined the rights of the trade union. He said that civil employees should continue implementation of government’s policies and plan effectively and committed to provide utmost support from the government to organize and revise trade unions. He argued that it was the responsibility of civil employees to make the government successful.

“The civil service has an important role in democratic countries. The civil employees should be loyal, honest, strong and disciplined towards the law”, PM Deuba mentioned.

The Head of the Government commended that the employees have been working as a bridge between government and citizens.
