KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has thanked CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal for assisting in the ratification of the US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
In the meeting of the ruling coalition held in Baluwatar this morning, Prime Minister Deuba thanked all the leaders, especially Maoist Center Chairman Prachanda and Unified Socialist Chairman Nepal.
“I would like to thank all the leaders for their assistance in ratifying the MCC. Special thanks go to Chairman duo Prachanda and Nepal,” said Prime Minister Deuba in the meeting.
The meeting also dwelled on the political course following the ratification of the MCC and has also decided to urge the main opposition CPN-UML to end the protests they have been continuing in the House of Representatives (HoR).
“Today’s meeting has decided to urge the main opposition CPN-UML to end the disruptions they have been continuing in the parliaments,” said Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, who is also the government spokesperson.
The leaders also discussed the day-to-day affairs of the government, upcoming local level elections and parliamentary proceedings in the meeting today, said Minister Karki.
The meeting has also set a goal to complete the MCC project within the five-year deadline.
