HoR meeting taking place at 1 pm; preparations underway to table MCC

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is taking place today.

According to the federal parliament secretariat, the HoR meeting is taking place at 1 pm.

A notice published by the Federal Parliament Secretariat on Saturday does not include the US grant millennium challenge corporation (MCC) as an agenda.

However, the ruling alliance Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (Unified Socialist) have agreed to hold discussions on the MCC in the parliament.

The Unified Socialist in its Standing Committee (SC) on Saturday decided to table it in the parliament for discussions. General Secretary Dr. Bedu Ram Bhusal following the SC meeting stated that the MCC should be tabled in the parliament for discussions.

Ruling Nepali Congress, which is taking the lead in the government, has already decided to endorse the MCC.

Even the CPN (Maoist Center) has agreed to hold discussions on the MCC by tabling it in the parliament, leaders have said.

Even though the leaders have agreed to table it in the parliament, the MCC does not feature in the agenda today.

According to the agenda, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will present the third annual report of the National Inclusive Commission 2077/078 BS.
