NC to focus on preparations of local level election



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has said it would now focus on preparation of local level election.

Welcoming the government announcement of local level election for May 13, the NC central work execution committee presented the proposal for various committees, including election main organizing committee, election manifesto preparation committee.

The NC said it would devote itself to the election with utmost unity within the party. A nationwide campaign would be organized for strengthening of party organization and election preparation, said Chief Secretary at party office, Krishna Prasad Poudel.

General Secretary Bishwo Prakash Sharma proposed making active the sister organizations of the party which are vacant of leadership posts.

The meeting presided over by Prime Minister and party President Sher Bahadur Deuba was attended by work execution committee members as Gopal Man Shrestha, Bimalendra Nidhi, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, Dr Sashank Koirala, Uma Regmi, Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, Sunil Bahadur Thapa, Bal Bahadur KC, Ramesh Rijal, Dr Narayan Khadka and others.

The committee would meet next at 2:00 pm Friday, according to Poudel.
