NC office bearers’ meet taking place

KATHMANDU: Office bearers of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) are scheduled to meet to discuss party’s internal affairs.

A meeting is taking place shortly at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday afternoon.

The meeting will dwell on the agenda for the party’s Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting that is slated for Thursday, said party joint general secretary Badri Pandey.

Party President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will attend today’s meeting. Office bearers held informal discussion after Deuba, who is also the prime minister, could not spare time for the party on Tuesday.

Issues like renewal of party’s sister and well-wisher organizations, whose term has terminated, district-level conventions in some areas and local level elections will be discussed in the CWC scheduled for Thursday, said Pandey.

Party’s office bearers include the president, two vice presidents, two general secretaries, eight joint general secretaries, the treasurer and a spokesperson.
