CM Rai expands Province 1 cabinet

BIRATNAGAR: Chief Minister of Province 1 Rajendra Rai has expanded the Council of Ministers.

Splitting seven ministries into 14 ministries, Rai expanded the cabinet on Sunday to include the ruling parties from the ruling coalition. Rai has added eight ministers to settle the power-sharing in the province.

Rai has made Indra Bahadur Angbo the Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning. He was already a minister. Himal Karki has become the Minister of Road, Infrastructure and Urban Development while Kedar Karki has become the Minister of Internal Affairs and Law.

Similarly, Jayaram Yadav has been appointed as the Minister of Health, Ram Kumar Rai as the Minister of Drinking Water, Irrigation and Energy.

Likewise, Rajan Rai has been made the Minister of Social Development and Khinu Langba Limbu has become the Minister of Tourism and Culture. Jhalak Bahadur Magar has become the Minister of Agriculture and Shekhar Chandra Thapa has become the Minister of Forest Environment and Soil Conservation in the Province 1 cabinet now.

As per the Sunday update, Omprakash Sarawgi has become the Minister of Industry, Labor and Employment and Pratap Prakash Hangam has become the Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation. Chief Minister Rai has appointed Upendra Prasad Ghimire as Minister of Transport Management and Communications and Bishnu Tumbahamphe as Minister of State for Social Development.
