CCMC recommends removal of odd-even rule for public transport

KATHMANDU: The Covid 19 Crisis Management Coordination Center (CCMC) has recommended the government to remove the odd-even rule for public transport.

According to CCMC spokesperson Sunita Nepal, a meeting held on Friday decided to recommend the government to remove the odd-even system on public transport.

The CCMC has, however, recommended continuing the odd-even rule on private vehicles and taxis.

The decision to this effect was made considering the public criticism on the odd-even rule imposed by the government to “curb” the spread of coronavirus and manage traffic congestion in Kathmandu.
