A military summary court martial formed under the chairmanship of Brigade Commander of 15 Brigade Krishna Bahadur GC relived Shahi of his post and slapped him with a one-month jail term.

Shahi has now been released after serving a one-month jail term.

A court of inquiry had been formed under the command of a Colonel of 25 Brigade on November 8 to investigate the case.

According to a highly placed source of the Nepali Army, Shahi had reached Chisapani bazaar on his vehicle, Ba 01-0026 Cha 3461, under the influence of alcohol on the evening when the incident took place.
