Health Ministry transfers key high-level officials



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has transferred key high-level officials and ministry subordinates on Tuesday.

Minister of Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada, through a Ministerial decision, transferred MoHP’s Chief Specialist Dr. Gunaraj Lohani to Bir Hospital today. The new organizational structure of Bir Hospital mandates a 12th level Chief Specialist to lead the organization.

Similarly, Director General Dr. Narayan Dhakal of Department of Drug Administration (DDA) has been replaced by Dr. Bharat Bhattarai. Meanwhile, Dr. Dhakal is sent to National Medicine Laboratory.

Sudha Devkota, director of National Center for AIDS and STD Control (NCASC), has been transferred to Central Jail Hospital and Dr. Sanjay Thakur has been assigned to NCASC.

Dr. Shri Ram Tiwari of Central Jail Hospital has been shifted to the National Tuberculosis Control Center. Director of Tuberculosis Center Dr. Prakash Shah has been sent to Karnali Province.

The Ministry of General Administration and Federal Affairs has been asked to replace Lumbini Province Health Secretary Dr. Bikas Devkota with Dr. Rajendra Khanal. Meanwhile, Dr. Devkota is to brought at MoHP.

According to a MoHP source, it has been decided to send Dr Saroj Sharma of Bir Hospital to Kanti Children’s Hospital.
