80 households in Humla provided warm clothes



HUMLA: Altogether 80 households from disadvantaged groups braving biting cold at Simkot Rural Municipality-4 in Humla district have been provided with warm clothes.

They were provided with blankets and clothes amid a program here Sunday on the occasion of 80th birth anniversary of Buddhist leader Drikung Kyabong Chuntsang Chyoki Nawang Rinpoche.

The beneficiaries included elderly people, underprivileged and Dalit communities in the locality, according to the International Drikung Kyabon Council.

Council’s secretary Rabindra Lama shared that the warm clothes were distributed after the mercury plummeted sharply in the district lately. The people from Bhot communities and people of Buddhist faith in Limatang, Bargaun, Torpa and Hutik villages were also provided warm clothes, Lama said, adding that a total of 300 blankets were distributed to religious leaders in the locality.
