I was elected NC central member as per party statute: Binod Chaudhary

KATHMANDU: Businessman and Nepali Congress (NC) central member Binod Chaudhary has claimed that he was elected to the central committee by the party’s 14th general convention as per the party statute.

Chaudhary said it was “apolitical and undemocratic” to question his election to the post.

“The party’s election committee had provided the time to object or challenge the nomination. If I were ineligible, my candidacy should have been challenged at that time,” he said.

Chaudhary, who received 2,206 votes, was widely criticized for his election to the party’s central committee from the Madhesi quota by the party’s 14th general convention recently.
