Westerly low-pressure system to cause cloudy weather and snowfall until Saturday



KATHMANDU: The weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in various parts of the country from today due to westerly low-pressure system that entered Nepal on Tuesday night.

The weather system will continue until Saturday, resulting in snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

Issuing bulletin this morning, the Division has said the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki and Bagmati due to this westerly low-pressure system.

However, this weather system is expected to have a partial impact on Pradesh 1 and 2.

Similarly, light snowfall is likely to occur in high hilly and mountainous regions of Pradesh 1 and Bagmati Pradesh.

Likewise, light rain is predicted in the hilly areas of Sudurpashchim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki and Bagmati and in some parts of Terai and one or two places of Pradesh 1 and 2.

The weather will gradually improve from Sunday with this system subsiding.
