Government grants permission, in principle, to formulate election related bill

Cabinet decisions announced



KATHMANDU: The government has decided to grant permission, in principle, to formulate a bill related to the election.

Announcing the decisions of Cabinet meeting held on December 29, Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, shared that the Cabinet granted the permission, in principle, to formulate bill related to election operation and management.

At a news conference organized at the Ministry Friday, also the Spokesperson of the government, Karki, said that a decision was also taken to handover the land administration of previous Lekhfarsa, Kafalkot and Lekhparajul VDCs of Surkhet district to Land Revenue and Survey Office, Mehalkuna, Surkhet and to operate the services related to this.

It also decided to recommend before the president to assign Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Bal Krishna Karki the role of acting Chief of Army Staff as CoAS General Prabhu Ram Sharma is staying on home leave from January 2-14.

According to Minister Karki, the government has decided to assign senior soil scientist Dr Ganga Dutta Acharya of Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development as senior program expert at SAARC Agriculture Center, Dhaka, on deputation.

Similarly, permission has been granted to use 2.57 hectares of forest area of national forest area located at Solududhkunda Municipality-2 in Solukhumbu district to open track of Taktor-Lamajura road section.

The government has given approval in-principle to complete the remaining study and internship to those students studying MBBS in different countries, including China, as well as to appoint Rishiram Panta and Shankar Ranabhat of Bhanu municipality of Tanahu district as chairperson and executive director of Adikabi Bhanubhakta Birthplace Development Committee respectively.
