Koshi Hospital to produce oxygen

MORANG: The Biratnagar-based Koshi Hospital is to produce oxygen from three different plants.

Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Chuman Lal Das, the work of connecting two oxygen-producing plants in the hospital has reached the final stage.

An oxygen plant worth Rs. 17 million is being operated with the support of the USA Nepal Medical Foundation.

Dr Das informed that it has been producing 90 to 110 cylinders of oxygen.

Similarly, the connection work of the plan to produce 190 cylinders of oxygen in coordination with the Nepal Medical Association has reached the final stage, he said.

According to him, a liquid oxygen tank of 20,000 liters has been installed recently to supply oxygen.

The hospital consumes 150 cylinders of oxygen of 48 liters daily.
