Comments on Prachanda’s political dossier range from MCC to familialism

KATHMANDU: Maoist Center representatives have made both positive and negative comments on the political dossier presented by the Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda.

Comments and suggestions made by the representatives range from imperialism to strict punishment for those involved in sexual immorality to the scrapping of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). Maoist Center leader Ram Karki has presented an elaborate report.

Some representatives have suggested that Chairman Prachanda has to rise above the familialism arguing that the party weakened after he prioritized his family members and relatives when it comes to posts and political appointments.

Some representatives have questioned Prachanda’s silence in the document on the Nepal-India border issue and the ownership of the revised map of Nepal as there is territorial dispute subsisting between the two countries.

Most of the representatives have suggested that the MCC agreement be scrapped.

The group-wise discussion is taking place at Nepal Academy and in some party place in the capital. According to sources, it will continue until 11 am.

Twenty-five groups are submitting their comments and suggestions on the political dossier presented by Chairman Prachanda at the closed session today.

The group leader will present the report based on the comments and suggestions given by the representatives of their respective group in the closed session that is scheduled to start at 1 pm at Nepal Academy Hall.

The Eight General Convention of the Maoist Center which started on Sunday will continue until Thursday.
