KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) leaders are deliberating on the political dossier presented by Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda in the closed session of the Eight General Convention of the party from today.
The representatives have been divided into 25 groups in line with the provinces to this effect. A group-wise discussion will take place in various halls of Nepal Academy in Kamaladi and the central party office, Paris Danda.
Party Chairman Prachanda on Monday presented a 45-page political document titled ‘The Path to Socialism in the 21st Century’.
Prachanda in the document has chalked out a strategy to forge an alliance among the like-minded communists and democratic forces in the future.
The communist movement has faced a setback in Nepal due to the lack of ideological clarity, reads the dossier tabled by Prachanda.
Meanwhile, Dahal in the document has pointed out three major mistakes he committed after the party signed the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) in 2006.
Prachanda said the first mistake was adopting the dual policy of rebellion inside and advocating election outside at the extended plenum of the party held in Palungtar. “We should not have talked about revolution at the time,” he said in the report.
Secondly, he said he should have held discussions regarding the integration of Maoist combatants in the Nepal Army in the party. “The integration process moved ahead as if it was a personal business deal. Neither a mandate from the Central Committee was obtained for integration nor discussion was held in the party,” he said.
Prachanda also said the abrupt dropping ‘Prachandapath’ was third error. “Prachandapath was not discussed at any level of the party. We should have clearly said that Prachandapath was not an ideology. If it was ideology, abandoning the ideology should have been discussed,” he said.
